1. Introduction

At Hazelwood Interiors, we are committed to delivering high-quality products and ensuring your satisfaction. This policy outlines your legal rights regarding online purchases under the Irish and European Union Consumer Rights Directive, as well as our standard terms for returns and exchanges.

2. Statutory Online Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

When buying online, you have a legal right to change your mind and cancel your order within 14 days from the day you receive your goods, without giving any reason.

  • Testing Goods: You are entitled to handle and inspect the goods to establish their nature and characteristics, just as you would inside our retail showroom.
  • Diminished Value: If an item is returned with signs of extended use, wear, or damage (such as fabric marks, pet hair, perfume scents, or missing tags) that goes beyond a reasonable inspection, we reserve the right to deduct an amount from your refund to reflect the diminished value of the item, up to the full purchase price.

3. Extended Returns & Exchanges Policy (Up to 21 Days)

To give our customers extra peace of mind, Hazelwood Interiors extends the return window up to 21 days from the date of delivery. To qualify for a return or exchange within this period, items must meet the following criteria:

  • The product must be in its original, resaleable condition with tags attached and in its original, undamaged packaging.
  • You must provide a valid proof of purchase (such as your order confirmation email).
  • A return or exchange must be requested and authorised by our team in advance.

Once authorised, goods must be sent back to us within 14 days. Unless an item is proven to be defective or sent in error, all return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

4. Mattresses & Bedding (Hygiene Exception)

Due to health protection and hygiene standards, certain items are sealed for health reasons. In accordance with EU consumer regulations, the right of cancellation does not apply to the following items if they have been unsealed after delivery:

  • Mattresses
  • Pillows and duvets
  • Duvet cover sets
  • Mattress protectors

These items are delivered in clear, sealed protective wrappers. Once this hygiene seal is broken, opened, or tampered with, the item is strictly non-returnable and non-refundable, unless it is found to be inherently faulty or defective. We strongly urge you to check all sizing and specifications before breaking the seal.

5. Non-Returnable & Custom Items

The right of withdrawal and our standard return policy does not apply to:

  • Bespoke, custom-made, or custom-upholstered furniture items.
  • Wallpaper cut to custom lengths or ordered as a custom print.
  • Clearance or end-of-line items explicitly sold as non-returnable.
  • Gift cards.

6. Refunds

Upon receipt and inspection of the returned goods (typically within two business days), we will confirm the refund status. For standard returns, we refund the product in full with the exception of the delivery charges. Approved refunds will be processed back to your original method of payment within 24 hours of confirmation. Please note that banks may require additional processing time to reflect the funds in your account.

7. Exchanges

The fastest way to exchange an item is to return the original product for a refund and place a new order online. All exchanges are subject to stock availability, and return shipping costs remain the responsibility of the customer.

8. Damaged, Faulty, or Incorrect Items

We take great care in checking our pieces before dispatch, but we ask that you inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If an item is damaged in transit, faulty, or incorrect, please notify us within 72 hours of receipt so we can arrange swift logistics.

Where an item is proven to be defective or incorrect, we will offer a full refund or a replacement (subject to stock availability). Hazelwood Interiors will cover all collection or return shipping costs for faulty items. Your statutory rights regarding faulty goods are not affected.
